On Gossip

From the Paris Review, an essay called Loose Lips, which refers to three books on the subject of gossip. Like many, I like Eleanor Roosevelt’s famous quote, “great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people.” On the other hand, as the author Laura Moser says, “there’s nothing quite so delicious, or so deeply human, as talking shit about other people.”
