Scary Story—Three Skelton Key

I read the short story Three Skeleton Key, by George G. Toudouze as a child, and I’ve seriously disliked rats ever since. It was in a book called  “The Bedside Esquire” (1948), which included short stories from Steinbeck, Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Dreiser, and Erskine Caldwell.
